Dilute Urine Question

Hi there! I just went and took my drug test for nursing school. I am wondering about how clear my sample was. I hadn't eaten very much and I drink a lot of water. My urine was really clear. Not completely but it wasn't too yellow either. The technician conducting the test didn't seem to think anything. If she did it wasn't mentioned to me. So I am wondering if it was too dilute would she be the one to tell me to retest or do they let the lab call me and tell me? I went to quest and I had a couple of hours before the stopped in order to retake if need be. So I am wondering who is responsible to decided whether I'll need to retake?

As a note, there can be a number of reasons for drinking excess fluid for a urine test.

As a traveler, many assignments required drug and/or alcohol screening. I have a "bashful bladder" issue, so drank a significant amount of fluid, and set out in public transit to find the testing center. When I got there, it was packed. It took over 3.5 hrs before I was seen. During the wait I was exceedingly uncomfortable and went to the bathroom, to relieve myself partially, after which, I would drink more fluid to insure an adequate specimen. By the time, they called my name, this had happened several times. And when the sample came back, it was dilute. I was retested using another center, after I told my company what the problem was.

As a note, some travel groups may flag you if you have repeated issues with dilute urine drug screens without a medical reason. I know of two travelers that were repeatedly warned of this issues. Both ended up bounced for serious alcohol and/or drug use.

To the "OP felt off" person...It isn't that I don't eat often enough everyday, but I am a full time student and on MWF I am in class back to back from 9-2 and I took my test on Friday so those days I know I don't eat but in the am and not again until after my kiddos are in bed. I never asked or insinuated I needed medical advice. I was simply asking a question about whether or not the lab tech whom administered my test would be the person to inform me or the analysis lab, that I needed to retest. I just thought, for me it seemed light colored and I asked you all because you have been here done this. I am not sure where, in any of my OP that I sounded concerned about my eating habits or water intake. Also, in a subsequent I said that I am just mindful of the possible delays of approval for any number of reasons and I don't want to be that. If I sounded "odd" to you, I am not sure what to say, because I didn't feel "odd" about anything lol. Enjoy your evening and thanks for the non advice advice ;-)
