that is so wrong!!Did you tell someone?

That is definitely wrong, and I think against the law, because this person is lying on the medical record. :nono: We had an aide that was fired for that. I would definitely talk to someone you feel comfortable with and mention it. And as always, learn from her mistakes.

well i told the cna (she is a level 2 cna)that was training me she said ahe would mention it to the unit manager....not using name of course...but i guess i will have to wait and see....maybe she will or wont but if she doesnt...then that is a problem for me.....i just dont want to start any trouble but that just was soooooo wrong!!!!!

WOw, that is just wrong.

That is falsefying (sp?) medical records and that CNA should be reprimanded. What if that resident's BP was unusually high or low and it was missed due to her lying? Very wrong on so many levels. It may not seem like a big deal to her but accurate BP readings are extremely important especially when it comes to medication. Sorry to rant, stuff like that really gets to me. Grrrrrrr

This can be considered criminal negligence. Purposefully falsifying medical records can lead to serious illness or death. What if this patient's bp was out of range? How could that be addressed if people aren't taking accurate VS? It is the entire nursing team's responsibility to provide the patient with the best care possible, and in that respect it was your responsibility to address it with that CNA/PN or the supervisor. I understand not wanting to make waves, but how would you feel if that patient bottomed out and you KNEW why. You could be subject to reprimand too. I am of the school of thought: If they ask for it, they are asking for a reason...

thank you all for responding, just wanted to give you an update..

she did get fired but hearsay is that it was for too many little pettie things like calling off and lates.....at least that is what some of the senior employees are talking about...

it does sadden me that she is going to be a lpn, and did that....what the ____ was she thinking.......i didnt want to start trouble but maybe she deserved it.....when i told my trainer....she said maybe she did it because last time she took this ladies bp she got hit......well wouldnt you try to ask someone else to get it? she wasnt a regular on the floor.....i would.....being a new cna...for me some of these elderly can be difficult to get a bp on...just trying to hear...

i know i did ask the second day...after 2nd attempt to the cna trainer.....

that was just so wrong what she did....

thank you all
