Hello travelers. I'm finishing up my 1st assignment and it was a great experience. I'm trying to find out more about the ins and outs of travel nursing. I was wondering if anyone receives differentials in their pay such as night shift, BSN, CCRN, etc. Also do you receive time and a half on holidays? My first assignment didn't have any of these figured in and I didn't know if this was standard or not. Thanks for the insight.

Nope, you get a flat base rate and that is it per your contract. If you have extra experience, skills, certifications, that can help get you work, but since the hospital pays the same bill rate, effectively the agency cannot pay you more (they might in practice for a competitive and proven traveler but the bill rate doesn't change, only the profit margin to the agency).
Generally holidays are paid time and a half if worked, but should be listed if so in your contract. But that is trivial in the big picture at what, 11 days a year at most?

I am a recruiter at Aya and i can tell you that all of the above is true. Credentials can give you a better job placement opportunity and some hospitals wont even consider you without them. Holiday pay is discussed in the job description depending on the hospital, same goes for shifts and OT opportunity. Your pay is depending on bill rate we get from hospitals and your specialty and sometimes bill rates can spike up if hospitals are desperately in need and need to fill asap. A good recruiter will always be on the lookout for the best possible pay for you.
Hope this helps a bit more to clarify how it works.
