i'm a dialysis nurse in the Philippines for 2 years. i heard that in order to get the HAAD license/ or to take the HAAD exam you should acquire a year of experience in Medical Surgical ward. is that true? or my experience as a dialysis nurse would be enough? im working at a dialysis center in the Philippines. but not in a tertiary hospital setting. is that enough to count as my experience?

1.DM
2.diabetis insipidus
3.drug computation..D/s...and IV computation, some convertion like morphine mcg to mg.
4.handling of narcotic drugs like pethidine.sample question is..how you dispose the pethidine.?ans.dispose the remaining drugs in the sink by two nurses.two bec.the other nurse is witness that you dispose the medicine.
5.different cultural belief.like how the muslim people buried the dead?

this is my first time to hear about HAAD exam. i asked my friend who is working in Saudi Arabia and she said, you can use NCLEX-RN review materials. unlike the NCLEX where you can't skip a question, you can do so with HAAD. and just answer it later. and the exam is not that difficult. mostly basic nursing knowledge. its a bonus factor that you will know your results immediately after!
All the best to the nurse exam takers!
