Is there an easy way to remember different diets for different disorders. I get so confused with which foods contain potassium, magnesium, iron, etc. Renal diets, cardiac diets, gout diet.....PLEASE HELP!!!!

Hi, I just took the NCLEX today.. (I am running out right now.. otherwise I would search up and down to help you find it- I will look later if you still didn't find it) but run a search for STUDY GUIDE.. someone on here made a study guide, I believe it was approximately 35 pages, there is a link for a pdf form, and in that pdf about a page of it gives a brief description for the foods for each of the disorders.. I found it useful when studying.... In addition to that study guide I also found Saunders helpful, for ex; if they discussed Potassium, they would usually provide a box to the side with examples of food high in potassium.. same goes for other important labs..

i'll check back later if I can to see if you found it.

Thanks! I found it....I also have Saunder's, but I was hoping I could find something easier to remember than going through all of that.....Thanks again!

Run a search on i Just found a Great Resource you will have to type in diets. I hope that helps.

Don't get hung up on it to the detriment of learning other material. Get your resource picked out and then try to add one new fact each day of study. By the time you are scheduled for your test, you should have a lot of it down.
