OK I was asked to work on a program that would encourage healthy eating for my 6th graders. My take on this would be a lunch table that students would volunteer to sit at and we could talk about diets, health and wellness. With parental and school permission and approval!
I asked for more responsiblity and I got it...oh boy!
I was wondering if anyone had any insight on a ciriculum or teaching guide. I thought I would have a topic of the day and a short lesson and then have a round table type talk and q&a.
I did take a nutrition class in college, but thats it & I sure don't want to pass on my insecurities and bad habits!!!

Search on google and you'll find all you want about healthy school lunches...probably more than you want...

There are a lot of really good government based sites that can get you started with a loose curriculum for teaching students about healthy diets and lifestyles. Most of it is really well done and separated out by age. Your idea of a lunch "round table" to discuss the topics you listed is a great idea.
