Didn't Get In

Published

Hey guys-

I interviewed for school for the first time this year and did not get accepted. I was so lost for a day or so but I have now recovered and going back for more!

I have crappy undergrad grades. But have done post-bac work including advanced phy(A), organic chem(B) physics(B), and all the core courses like research(B), policy(A),Theory(A) ect- I scored 1150 on the GRE. I'm an ACLS instructor. ICU experience since 1997

Is it ok for me to ask feedback from the school which interviewed me as to what they would like to see me do? I'm definitly going to do my CCRN, and then look to get involved in some committees in the hospital and even our state nursing organization.

Any other thoughts?

It is a good idea to ask what you can do to strengthen your applicantion. Also, consider applying to several schools so you're not putting all your eggs ine one basket.

Take this advice for whatever it's worth, because I am still in the process and have only received a decision (negative) from one school out of four.

I was told by admission committee members that they welcome hearing from those that did not get accepted when they seek feedback on how to become stronger candidates for future applications. I would schedule an appt w/ the admission director and review your information.

Good luck.

what was your undergrad gpa?
