Did PVT trick, But boards said the haven't reviewed my test

Hi everyone!

So I took my NCLEX-PN earlier this month on 4/3/15 and still haven't gotten my results. I tried the PVT and got the bad pop up unfortunately and was devastated and was certain I failed bc I stopped at 85.(BTW I put the wrong exp.date dont know if that matters) However, I called a couple days ago and they said my test has NOT been reviewed and were backed up and were still working on 3/27/15 tests.. So I started feeling hopeful again. So my question is were my results always a fail since received the bad pop up, and now the boards are just double checking it and are the ones to send it out the result? Or were they not reviewed at all and were backed up from the previous month, and there is a chance I passed?

I appreciate any knowledge with the NCLEX results and thank your for taking the time to read this post!

We moved your thread to the NCLEX forum for the best response. Good luck and we hope you enjoy the site.

The Board of Nursing for your State does not review the tests at all, never. They only receive the results from Pearson Vue, the agency that administers the exam. If your BoN said they "haven't reviewed" anything, it means that they literally haven't looked at your file and haven't either assigned a license number OR sent you out a failure notification (with CPR). The BoN receives the results as soon as the exam result is finalized, and that's 24 hours maximum (unless a hold is placed, but I'm not going to go into that, as that's not applicable as of this date anyway).

PVT is relatively accurate, but by no means 100%. When you say you got the "bad pop up", do you mean you were charged $200 for another registration, and you have that receipt?

If you mean that, and you DID the pvt after a full 24 hours passed after completion of the exam....in all likelihood you did fail. If you did it prior to 24 hours, all you know is what your FIRST scoring was (every exam undergoes a 2-step scoring/screening within the first 24 hours). And in that case, it was a fail.

For now, there's absolutely nothing you can do except wait for the notice from your BoN.

Thank you so much for your response. Ive been waiting almost a month and its been tough wondering.. I just want my results so i can move forward, whether it be studying and take it again, or pass and look for a job.

To answer your question, I got as far as the CC page and put the wrong expiration date bc I'm in no shape to pay for a registration right now. And the pop up I got was I needed to pay with a different card in order to move forward with the payment. So I assumed I failed bc I was under the impression that it wanted to accept my re-registration, just needed to put correct exp. date.

Keep your hopes up. Don't give up... and when the time is right you will be a licensed nurse too.

Based on what you wrote, the likelihood is that you failed, but it's absolutely not a given. You might have failed and that is why you were prompted to put in valid info; you might have passed and were a 'test' charge that Pearson Vue does from time to time. Can't know for certain until you receive official notification.

These are the scenarios that people never seem to read about when they are declaring the PVT "100% accurate" :(

Good luck!
