Did the hospital or school fingerprint you before making an offer?

Nurses Criminal

Published

Hi, I am interested in knowing if a hospital or nursing school fingerprinted you before offering you a job or a spot in school? When you say background check what exactly is it? Is it a form asking you to disclose any convictions, ssi and dl? Or the actual fingerprinting?

I KNOW the BON will fingerprint and I am ok with that I plan on asking for a declaratory order ASAP before I even move forward but I want to know what getting a job will be like later. I am sure that with a SSI and DL check nothing will come out in my background since I have a minor misdameanor about 14 years ago in a different state.

By the time I apply for a job it will be 17 years or so and I am sure regular background checks only go back 10 years and if the record is espunged I dont need to disclose if it wont come out.

thanks everyone!

We were fingerprinted after we were accepted, but before classes so that if a 'unforgivable' did occur, they could still fill the seat.

You cannot hide your past. Don't try. Be honest an when you fill out your applications, answer the question you are asked.....: such as...have you ever been charged with....means all arrests regardless of outcome.... OR have you ever been convicted of (or plead guilty, nolo contendre, etc.) regardless of adjudication... means you do not have to declare arrests where charges were dropped or you were found not guilty.

Make sense?

I dont plan on lying about anything that being said I am not giving info I am not asked or I dont have to by law. According to my lawyer I do not have to disclose my expunged record because in California where the record was 12 years ago the law doesnt allow any misdemeanors to be disclosed after 7 years unless its a specific felony which I do not have. That exception will be made for the BON where by law I have to disclose it and wait for their decision. Based on my charge it doesnt look like it will be a problem. At least I hope not. Thanks everyone!
