Did you find a mentor?

There are many who have written posts about wondering if anyone 'out there' was willing to mentor them and offer some individualized support through nursing school, working as a new grad, changing specialties, etc. I am wondering....did you ever get someone? I have been researching and have found some who posted these questions, but if you look at their posts, there was no response.

I have contacted some of you through PM to see if anything ever panned out. If there is anyone else who has reached out like this and I missed you, could you please let me know if you were ever able to find someone to help? Wondering how many fall between the cracks and how many posts asking for help go unanswered. Please share if this has been you-on either end.

Thank you!

When I graduated, allnurses wasn't around, so any form of mentoring had to be done strictly in person. There was no networking. I had a really good mentor. She was one of the better tetris players out there and was well rested on shift. She told me that I would go on to do great things in this profession. The best lesson I learned from her was "use the D - Delegate."

I met her a few months into school on a practice experience and she told me I am a quick learner and only a few days after learning the basics, I was told I was delegating like an experienced nurse, although I was only a student. My classmates were doing the dirty work while we were hunting down a CNA to do the dirty work.
