if so, did any of you get your results? I took my NCLEX-rn test on the 14th and still no name on the web.. I stopped at 75 questions. PLEASE HELP. any advice?

ksas4ever

sorry i replied so late but i've been having some internet problems lately. anyways i got my results in the mail a day after you got yours. i failed as well. i'm not losing hope ksas and neither should you. i sent in my re-registration payment for the exam right away so hopefully i can take the exam as soon as possible while everything is fresh. i'll keep you posted when i'm retaking and if i pass this time.

im so sorry, i know how you feel. i did the same. i also payed for the registration fee the next day. but i don't know if i should take it soon or wait and study harder. to be honest, i studied alot the last time and the thing that i know i need to work on is the strategies.

i am glad that you are not losing hope. i really want this so i can start with my life and i know you want this as bad. we can do it. we just need to learn the trick. what ever that is. take care and don't stress, its done with.

oh by the way, i've been studying before i got my results but as soon as i got my result i am so not motivated. i want this so bad but i get distracted when i study. any suggestions?

take care and good luck to both of us.

KSAS4EVER,

You said that you took your exam on 1/29/08. Don't you have to wait for 45 days before you can send your registration fee to BON?

I got my result as well and failed but I thought I have to wait for 45 days to lapse before I can send my registration fee.

Thanks.

ksas4ever,

thanks.

sorry to hear that you failed. when they send you the big ugly envelope, there is a registration form in there that you fill and send along with a $75 fee. thats the one i sent. send that asap. the sooner you send that, the sooner you get a candidat profile notification from pearson which tells you to pay $200 for the test. and as soon as you pay the $200, they send you att, in which you can schedule your test. i hope that helped.

ksas4ever,

thank you for your support. it really does mean alot hearing common struggles from a future nurse to be. i greatly appreciate you sharing your experiences with me. suggestions as to how to get motivated? i do have to admit that when i had recently taken my test, i would still be studying for days afterwards hoping to keep that information fresh. but the agony in just waiting and stressing and constantly looking at the boards online website for my name just made me stressed as well.

however there's lots of ways to get motivated. next week i'm going to be studying with a friend who has not taken her board yet. the same study partner i had before, right before i took the boards. from my experience it's very motivating having someone who's graduated from nursing to be your study partner. that way you guys can help each other out on discussing and testing each other on knowledge.

i also came to find out that in reading posts here on this website that 'saunders' is indeed a good book. if you have not purchased that yet, i suggest that you do so. i have another friend that took the boards and failed with kaplan as did i. she had just purchased the book and gave me excellent feedback with regards to its contents. it has pathophysiology, pictures, descriptions etc and it also includes 4,500 practice test questions she told me. she told me that it's around 49 dollars but i do think that it's well worth the money. i plan on purchasing that and changing my study habits. maybe you and i are lacking on a certain area, and are doing the same study habits over and over...apparently it's not working.

[color=#48d1cc]what else can i give as advice, remain strong and keep beleiving in yourself. i've read and heard countless times about people failing the boards, just keep trying. it helps to have a calender in your room where you can write your study plans for the day/week. i have a dry erase calender in my room that i write on. it has which pages/chapters i should be covering for the week/day. that way i keep myself on track. also my room is full of brightly colored neon study aids, now i know all of us have our ways of studying but i think it helps you to keep in mind the important facts that you need for the test. write down lab values or areas that you're weak on.

[color=#48d1cc]i do hope that my advice is of any help. if anything keep in touch or send me a message. tell me when you get your att ok? :)

seeking success:)

Thanks for your advice. It really makes sense. Im glad you have a plan and a study partner. Everyone i know have passed the test. I really want to give suzannes plan a chance. i heard alot of good things, i just can't wait to get her second tip. i do have the saunders book 3rd edition which is very much like the 4th edition, therefore im not going to buy it.

after i took the test, i came home and wrote down everything i remembered and went thru the book to see what i missed. One thing i learned was that i did not follow the decision tree. i did not use the strategies i should have used, otherwise i probably would of passed. I knew the content,I didn't think the questions were hard, the answer choices were what i was struggling with. im pretty sure what my weakness is, i just need to work at it till i get it right.

I was very close to passing last time, hopefully this time i can pass it without going back and saying i should of, would of ,could of. good luck, keep me informed, hopefully both of us can find success.

Take care

wow you're still awake huh? well i'm glad that you have saunders already, i have yet to get it but right now i still need the money from my next paycheck. what i find hard is that i have work and study that i have to takecare of but that's life right. i definitly think that you will pass this time considering that you only had two areas that you failed at last time. it's funny i was thinking of doing suzanne's plan too. i mean i heard alot of people passed by just doing that. i really hope you and me hang in there and pass..that would be a wish come true for me to just get on with my life and finally be happy that i have my whole life ahead of me. agh...>.

gyrl123 and RN 2008...... have you heard anything yet??? I tested on the 9th and I am still waiting. The BRN received my transcripts as of Tuesday the 26th. I'm hoping that my transcripts were the hold up not a letter saying I failed. If you haven't heard yet, post on this thread when you do. Good Luck! It will be 3 weeks tomorrow and I am tired of waiting! :uhoh3:
