Dialysis rn looking for change - possibly travel

Hi there! I'm a diploma rn with 14 yrs experience and 6 yrs dialysis experience. I LOVE hemodialysis but have run into some bumpy roads at the center where I'm employed. RN's cover all of the acute cases in the local hospital and until recently have rotated this duty. We work 10 hrs sometimes without a break so this is not a fun rotation. Due to a new contract obtained by our company, we have another hospital to cover and I'm to work acutes pts only. This may be the straw..... Anyway, I'm seriosly considering travel nursing (dialysis), particularly in the caribben (USVI) and would like any input any of you can give me. I have a husband that would travel with me. Currently I'm making approx 26/hr .

I love St. Thomas - small hospital - about 160 beds but wow - what beautiful weather and the people are wonderful too. Just did a vacation there in July and can't wait to go back!

Hello trvlnRN. Are you still out there? I first read about your travels in an RV ~ 2 years ago and have been working hard toward that goal ever since. I recently sold my home and moved into a small apartment. I've been to several RV shows and have decided on buying a Travel Trailer and pulling it with a Pickup Truck. I've worked for the last 4 years as a Medical Case Manager in Workers' Comp. I recently completed an RN Refresher course and I now need to make a decision: I had planned on specializing in the Emergency Dept., but noticed that you work in dialysis.
