Dialysis nursing pros and cons

Published

Hi everyone,

I recently was offered a position for dialysis nursing and wanted to know the pros and cons of dialysis from any experienced nurses?

How do you manage the 16 hours shifts ?

Also is it flexible for anyone that has children ? I have a 4 year old

As salary I can see them taking advantage of this. Can't work yourself to death and not safe for the patients either. If they're short staffed you'll be working every bit of 16 hours. Also if they're short staffed that's a red flag. Need to investigate further before you say yes.

After doing my research i learned that the outpatient clinic was owned by a major corporation in my area. It turns out they sold it and now it is under new ownership. The employee’s that were originally there all had the option to stay but more than have of them decided to part ways.
