It was a passing comment in one of the threads about new- grad RNs. Can't remember which thread it was on, but I was wondering if anyone else had heard of stories of New Dialysis nurses losing their licenses. I suppose that any nurse working anywhere runs the risk of losing their license, but this comment just ruffled my nerves a bit. Also..... I shouldn't post new threads when sleep deprived because I misspell words like "dialysis!" haha! Oops!

Funny. I just saw a job looking for dialysis nurses. I was like no thanks! Too scared to do something wrong. That's a scary field to me for some reason. Especially as a new nurse.
Well NO specialty is good for "new nurses" really. The learning curve on all specialties is very steep. Whether you start in med-surg, OB, ER, ICU or dialysis, you will have a lot to learn in quick time. I would not be discouraged, but I would be aware this is how it is and go into it with the attitude you will learn and do fine if you have a good mentor and ambition. GOOD LUCK

i read in one of the threads below where someone said that dialysis has caused new nurses to lose their license and they wouldn't recommend a new nurse entering into this field. Can anyone give me more info on this? Thanks! :) Just trying to keep my eyes open......
