DFW hospitals without internships....

Published

Just wondring if anyone knows of any hospitals in the DFW area that will hire new grads without having to wait until June for the internships to start. I would like to start working now and don't really want to wait another 2 months......any suggestions will help greatly, thanks!!

Specializes in ER, IICU, PCU, PACU, EMS.

I would mass apply to the hospitals in your area. As a new grad, you will probably have a better chance at starting in med-surg than a specialty area....but then again, you never know! Good luck!

Ditto...... there is a REASON why their is an internship, as a new grad you know the absolute legal MINIMUM to be a nurse. The intership builds on that and teaches you what you need to survive in the "Real World". So if no intership is a must, you're looking at working the floor/med-surg at best...

Go ahead and apply! The nursing internships are great. Whose to say they won't go ahead and hire you and start you through your orientation process/hospital orientation/paperwork etc. before the class starts.

Good Luck!

Specializes in Med/Surg.

I was told I could start my intership at anytime after I graduated....but the absolute LAST DAY to start was June 4th. I would ask about it. They need nurses now. And if you have already graduated then you are ready.

Specializes in Case mgmt., rehab, (CRRN), LTC & psych.

Look into Regency Hospital, located in Fort Worth. They're a smallish hospital, and they do not have internships. There's also Healthsouth.
