Desales Accelerated Program May 2010

Hey All,

I was admitted to the Desales Accelerated BSN program starting this May (2010). Im just trying to reach out to meet anybody who is in the same boat!

Congrats! I too received an acceptance letter from DeSales! :yeah: I will be coming from California, any other Californians going out there too? Also would anyone happen to know the area well? And have any info on where the best place to live?

Wow all the way from Califorina!! Thats far. I'm from CT its only about a three hour drive. I have not yet sent in my deposit, but I will be doing that shortly. Did you send yours in already? My email is [email protected] shoot me an email hope you had a nice Christmas!!

I live about 10mins from DeSales campus in Bethlehem. My apartment complex is relatively inexpensive (I think??) I just moved here last May 2010. I pay about $800/mon for a 2brm/2 full bath. garbage & water is included, but electric (runs me about $60/mon) & cable/internet are not included. Hope this helps! Can't wait to meet you all when the program starts! :o)

I am so jealous, It must be nice to be that close!! I can't wait to meet you all as well! I hope to get a roomate so hopefully I will be able to cut that price in half, but that seems reasonable. What is the name of your complex? I will see if I could look it up online. Thanks

My fiancee is my roommate, so that really helps ;-) The apartment complex is called Waters Edge on W. Lehigh st. They may have one bedrm apts too, but I'm not sure.

Wow $800 for 2b2b?! That's way inexpensive! 2b2b from CA usually run around $2,000/mo! Thanks for the info dahl! How is the neighborhood of bethlehem? Is it safe? I would get a kick out of saying that I live in "Bethlehem" lol. I am still debating on graduate housing (if they provide that) or finding an apartment close to campus. Also people have suggested that I do not bring my car to the east coast bc the snow messes up the car, is that really true? Ah I have a lot to figure out before May hits, but I am very excited to meet you all! =) Keep in touch!

lol Bethlehem is pretty safe. My apt is located near most of the excitement as far as festivals! But otherwise very quite & clean neighborhood. I moved here from Buffalo Ny.... so I would say it is dramatically LESS snowy here than there! I doubt you would have much environmental damage on your car here in Bethlehem. Not comparing Beth to Buff-- Bethlehem has only had 2 days of MILD snow fall thus far. My biggest issue with my car is bird poop-- not a fan! I believe DeSales does provide some graduate housing, but I'm sure its limited. Although, it would be nice not to have to drive to class, you may want your car anyhow because we will need to drive to clinicals. Good Luck!

Hi everybody! I am Khoa...living in Allentown (10 mins from De Sales). I will be attending the program in May and my goal is to become a CRNA someday. Yes there is a facebook page for those who would like to communicate there since you can see pictures of people and not just postings... the site is named Accelerated BSN Class of 2012. And for those from far away - if you want to check out PA come a week early and I'll be happy to take you around for a week to see PA...home of the Phillies and Eagles...south Philly cheesesteak and soft pretzels....the liberty bell...Hershey chocolate world...shrines of John Neumann and Katherine Drexel...and mind as well go over to NY City for a day of fun while we still have our days of freedom :)
