Desales Accelerated Program May 2010

Hey, I know we have talked about the program...but figured I would post too to get the topic active and see if any others are also in the accelerated nsg program at DeSales for May 2010.

I'm Joe, from the West Chester, PA area. Graduating from West Chester University this May right before our program starts. I finally just got my fingerprints done, took me forever to find a place to actually do it for me though. I called DeSales and they told me it had to be done in ink and I couldn't find anywhere to do it that way, everyone used electronic fingerprints...which makes much more sense. State police did it for me though finally. I filled out the background check stuff right away, and all my other stuff is scheduled, but coming together. How are you guys doing with yours?

I have everything completed except for my BLS classes which are scheduled for end of March and beginning of April. I had my fingerprints rolled on an electronic screen and then they printed them out on an official fingerprint card and I mailed that in to Certified Background. After reading your post I'm a bit nervous now, but I had it done at the state police barracks and they said that was the way it had to be done. (I hope it's ok!) I'm just finishing up A&P II and Micro this semester and will be done on May 13th. Looking forward to meeting both of you on the 19th! Oh, and I'm turning 30 (cringe) right before the program starts, married and have a 2 year old little girl. :) This is a huge career switch for me. I was a Realtor before this.

Hey sorry it took me awhile to get back to you, I was away for a little while. That's great to hear, I'm sure it will be tough but we will all get through it and it will be for the best. I can't wait to start the program, really. I finally have all of my paperwork out of the way except for the forms my Dr. has to fill out and the CPR course, but both are scheduled so it's falling into place, slow but sure! If it's easier for you, send me an e-mail at [email protected]. Sometimes it's hard for me to get on here if I'm in class, but I can always get to my e-mail. Did your results on certified background come up yet? Mines been complete for awhile now and it still says 2-5 business days. I can't figure out why, I'm assuming they are waiting until the fingerprints get loaded on there and they said that could be up to like 8 weeks? Who knows, but since it's DeSales first time requiring the fingerprints I'm sure everyone is having the same trouble I was! Definitely look forward to meeting you as well, keep in touch.

I am applying to DeSales for May 2011. To all of you who were accepted for 2010 - Congratulations. I would love some insight into how competitive the program is and what you think counts most in the application process. When do they send out acceptance letters for the May start? Does anyone plan to live in their housing on campus? How is the program going so far?

I have been accepted to the class starting May 2011. I am currently just finishing up my Physical Education and Health teaching degree. I would love some feedback from others who have gone through the program. Also, most likely for housing I am going to try and get an appartment off campus, does anyone have any suggestions of where to live. Thanks :)

Congrats! I too received an acceptance letter from DeSales! I will be coming from California, any other Californians going out there too? Also would anyone happen to know the area well? And have any info on where the best place to live?
