I am interested in Dermatology NP as well. Currently in school for FNP, I thought this was the best option. My background is mainly in Peds/Women's health. Do you have any suggestions for breaking into this area? I actually am looking to relocate to the AZ area, Chandler is beautiful! Perfect place for me and my children. So since you already work in the area of Aesthetics what would you recommend or suggest that I do to get into this area?
What a small world because I currently reside in Chandler! I would suggest applying to plastic surgery clinics, dermatology clinics, or medical spas. If you don't have experience in dermatology it will be difficult for you to get into the industry; however, if you possess the right personality and clinic skills than you will be able to get your foot in the door.
I believe working in the field of Dermatology will enable patients to distinguish you as a Dermatology NP as oppose to a FNP.
Thank you all for your input!

I'm currently an Aesthetic RN and have worked in this specialty for around two years. I love the industry and would like to continue my education to become a Nurse Practitioner specializing in Dermatology.
I would like to know which program would be more beneficial for me to study - Adult NP program or Family NP program? In addition, if I want to open my own practice in Medical and Cosmetic Dermatology which degree/program would be most desired and marketable - DNP from a less prestigious program (ASU) or MSN from a more prestigious program (UPenn)?
