Jan 30, 201610 yr Hi Everyone! Is there anyone who has been accepted for the the Fall 2016 cohort or heard back from admissions? Which campus? How did you hear if you got accepted? Deadline was January 15th, I know it's a little too soon to hear back but you never know! :)
Jan 31, 201610 yr Hi there,I applied mid December thru NursingCAs and haven't heard anything yet, except they sent me a link for campus connect. Last year some people got accepted early Feb and some in April so it can take a while, specially if you applied thru NursingCAS like me. Apparently applications to DePaul directly take less time...However, just yesterday I went for an info session at RFU, although I applied for LP, and the lady convinced me that if you satisfy all the requirements, there's no reason to worry, you'll get accepted. Even if your prereq's are not done yet, they'll accept you conditionally. So good luck to you and let me know if/when you hear anything :)
Jan 31, 201610 yr Author Hi Vpet!I applied to the LP campus. I actually did it via NursingCas first and the DePaul website after I spoke to someone in admissions (live chat) and they said exactly what you just mentioned...that NursingCas takes a bit longer and that it wouldn't affect me if I applied using both.Did you apply to other programs in and out of state? and I honestly wouldn't care which campus they send me to haha. I just want to get my RN journey started. The best of luck to you! :)
Feb 1, 201610 yr I applied to Rush and Elmhurst College too and have already got invited for an interview at Rush. DePaul doesn't do interviews, right? Elhurst is my 3rd choice since the program is new and I don't know too much about it. One thing that was explained in the info session I mentioned before is that DePaul will consider you only for the location you applied for, not for both....unless you applied for both. The only way they could ask you to join a different location is if you lets say get waitlisted at LP and they have some spots available at RFU, the admission from RFU will reach out to you and ask if you'd be willing to go there. But they only accept about 30 a year at RFU, so I wouldn't expect that they don't fill their spots. At LP they admit about 200 students.Did you apply anywhere else? What is your choice #1?
Feb 2, 201610 yr I applied for LP directly through Depaul on December 1st and I still haven't heard anything
Feb 3, 201610 yr I am also waiting to hear back and am super nervous… DePaul is my first choice. I applied back in October so I am hoping and crossing my fingers!!! :)
Feb 3, 201610 yr Author It would be great to get accepted at DePaul! I have also applied to accelerated BSN programs...one year only.
Feb 4, 201610 yr I have also considered accelerated BSN because most of them can be done in about a year or up to 16 months and the price is significantly lower, but with MSN from DePaul I will be that much closer to DNP, which is my final goal....Fingers crossed, hope to see you all in August!
Feb 4, 201610 yr I also applied to the University of Arizona's MEPN the entire program is 16 months long and takes 114 people
Feb 4, 201610 yr Yeah, I applied to Vanderbilt as well. I'm waiting and waiting and hoping and hoping!! I'm finishing up my bachelors this may!
Feb 4, 201610 yr Author Accelerated BSN programs are nice because they are def cheaper and sometimes hospitals like Rush pay for your master's or other further education...and those programs are tailored for working nurses. You are done quicker and start working sooner, gaining that experience. I agree though, DePaul's MENP allows you to be closer to that DNP! I wish everyone the best of luck!! :) :)
Feb 4, 201610 yr I have also applied for the DePaul MENP program for this fall. I talked with the admissions office and they said 6-8 weeks from the deadline so we're looking at late February. Last year it seems like most people knew around mid-late February so we're almost there!I just got accepted to Loyola's ABSN program but will attend DePaul if I get in. Loyola is like a 45 min commute (with no traffic) so no thanks! Haha. Good luck to you all! :)
Feb 5, 201610 yr I applied just before the deadline and got an email today saying it's been passed on to the admissions committee. I'm applying to programs all over the country and hopefully will get into a MEPN (as opposed to ABSN programs I'm applying to as well)....now it's hurry up and wait.
