Denver School of Nursing - January 2017

Hello!

I am starting this thread for those that will beginning the application process for the Denver School of Nursing - January 2017 start.

I have been working very hard for the past few years to finish up prerequisites and am so excited to finally be able to apply! I am a little nervous about the whole process, but feel like I have gotten a lot of information about the application process and school by reading other threads on this site.

It would be great to connect with other people that are in the same shoes as me and go through this process "together" !

For the prerequisites for the BSN program, are they wanting 2.5 per prereq grade minimum or cumulative 2.5? Do you know if they penalized for retakes of courses?

Lucky! Congrats!!!!! I did... They selected me for the alternate list... I made a thread, it says more on there if you want to check it out. I'm really bummed and sort of freaking out. í ½í¸¢

I believe it is a cumulative of at least 2.5.

Hello!

I was invited for an interview! I am really excited but already starting to get nervous about the whole thing! I currently live in the mountains so if I am accepted, I will have to move down to the Denver area. Dsmith, where do you currently live? How are you feeling about everything? Do you know anyone who has been through the BSN program at DSN? Melly - I have read on this forum that a lot of people end up getting pulled from the alternate list. Hang in there! :)

Anna, I am from S. CO but we moved to N. CO so that I could attend nursing school. Took two years of living here to finally get accepted to a school. I was applying at community colleges for an Associates degree when I had given up on public schools. Wish I had just jumped the gun sooner, I would already be done! :) Right now we are living in Greeley and trying really hard to relocate to Thornton/ Brighton area. I am also SUPER nervous-especially for the first two quarters patho and medical terminology are suppose to be the hardest classes to pass ever. I also checked DSoN's web page for retention rates and they said to check IPEDS out...the only statistic on that page was from the 2009-2010 school year and it said it was only 20%. I do not know anyone personally that has gone through the program but while searching the forums a couple of the girls gave their names so people could friend them on facebook. I'm a crazy lady and went ahead an msged one. She has been super informative. Page Not Found | Facebook

Ha! Crazy lady! I am nervous for patho and pharmacology. I have read just about every forum out there about Denver School of Nursing, but do not know anyone that has gone through the program. I know some people that have worked with nurses from DSON and said that they knew their stuff and were happy with the program. How can I find you on Facebook?
