My experience was more like an orientation meeting than a formal interview.

The meeting started out with a history of the school and all the accreditations they have achieved and are currently working on. They explained what the schedule kind of looks like and I was asked just a few questions about why I chose the school and why I want to be a nurse. Then I had a quick meeting with a financial advisor. Then we finished with a tour of the school and the lab.

All I know is that the start date would be July 1st and orientation is scheduled for June 20th. During orientation we should get our schedule for the quarter.

Just curious, for those of you coming from out of state; what are you planning on doing for housing?

I started at DCN about 3 weeks ago and I came from California. At your interview you can ask to be put on the roommate list and an email will be sent out with others looking for housing/roommates. I personally searched extensively on craigslist for people with an open room and it worked out!

How are you liking it so far? What is your schedule?

I'm loving it! Scary to move here at first though. They don't really ease into it so be prepared to dive right in week 1, I was overwhelmed by that but you learn to time manage. It depends on your cohort, for me I have classes M-Thu, almost all are in the morning except wednesday is 2-4:30. Let me know if you have any other questions I'm happy to answer!

There are a few that work maybe once or twice a week. A lot are starting to ask for less shifts or are quitting. I would say it depends how well you can time manage and your study habits. It's really demanding

I'm trying to determine if I will be able work. How many hours a week are you in class, and how many hours a week are you studying? Thanks!
