I've been googling like a madwoman and I can't really find much on a projected demand for NPs. Does anyone have recent numbers from a reliable source?
That's pretty pricey. You may want to shop around. Also, if you are going to an exclusive traditional classroom based program, make sure you add for gas, parking, lost time from work to go to class, etc.Although a bit outdated, here are some programs you might want to check out:
First column is school, second is cost/credit, third is total credits for program and last is total tuition for program. Again, make sure you double check as this list is about 2 years old:
University of Southern Indiana $232 42 $9,744
South Dakota State University $240 49 $11,760
Indiana State University $278 48 $13,344
Ball State University $364 48 $17,472
Graceland College $445 43 $19,135
SUNY--Stony Brook $455 45 $20,475
Indiana University-Purdue $536 42 $22,512
Frontier Nursing $395 57 22515
University of Texas--Arlington $484 51 $24,684
University of Alabama--Birmingham $518 49 $25,382
Northern Kentucky University $573 47 $26,931
California State University--Dominguez Hills $561 50 $28,050.00
Felician College $675 46 $31,050
Western University of Health Sciences $580 55 $31,900
East Carolina University $644 50 $32,200
Old Dominion University $715 47 $33,605
Duquesne University $751 46 $34,546
Duke University $785 45 $35,325
Duke is currently $1053 a cr hr. I was recently accepted but had to decline
since I was not awarded a scholarship. I'm going to ECU instead.

Yikes! Thanks much for the update.
For all--am I reading this right? Is DNP tuition at JHU really $2,053/unit x 38 units=$78,014.00?

Kind of like landing on Boardwalk with hotel.
i got in contact with ann white at usi, she stated that they are accepting applications and admitting new students for spring and fall, she does not know where the information came from that they were booked for the next five years but that it was not true. she did say that the fnp options were limited you have a choice of 3 or 4 years of study for the program. hope this helps. if a program is closed to new applicants it usually states it on the web page.

that's great news! i left a message for ann to confirm, but it would make sense that they would post at least a small note on their website if they were full. i'm not sure, though, how extending the msn-fnp program will figure if students do not start before next year with the dnp requirement.

Sounds like a program that lets you take the PNP-AC exam. There aren't many of them.
