Wow guys! What alot of information to take in! Luckily, I'm not in AP I lab, nor will I have to take it (hopefully! I am trying to get into school in sept and I have to take AP II and Micro in Summer session I and II respectively. Since I can't squeze it in, I'm hoping that they would waive it - they said it was possible in extreme circumstances!) The regular bones I'm not worried about. I was a student athletic trainer and had a little anatomy before, but the SKULL! Oh my god! Was nodding in class last night ... that is my main concern! I guess I will just use the flashcard and studying drawings method!

You are not required to take the lab? I guess different schools have different requirements. I actually enjoy lab because it gives you the opportunity to see things more hands on. Learning about the bones, and particularly the skull, is so much easier when you actually get to handle a skull.

Although we need to only have completed A&P 1 before starting the nursing program, those students that have also completed A&P 2 and microbiology go to the ahead of the line when it comes to entering the nursing program. I also plan on taking both of these classes before entering the program, even if it means having to take them over the summer. Once I get into the nursing program, I don't want to have to worry also about these other classes.

Yes you do need the labs, BUT I talked to the admissions counselor and explained my situation. They stated that if I had a science back ground (which I do) they might be able to waive that one credit since I'm on a timeframe. I'm going to try to take the lab, but if not I'm hoping that they would be able to waive it. I'm going for a second degree program since I already have my bachelors ...

Ok, heres what ya do. Go to http://www.dccc.edu website. On the top right hand corner where it says "I'm looking for" click on "Virtual anatomy course"...there will be a whole course you go through with real diagrams labeled then it will test you with the same diagram unlabled. They also have a virtual cat and other organs if you are dissecting. I gave this website to another student and she said she got an "A" because of it. Let me know how you like it. speaking of bones....I just finished the lab practicum on the bones and I am feeling devastated!!! I think I may have passed but I don't know for sure. I have a terrible time figuring out if a bone is the left or right. I won't know my grade till next Monday so I geuss I will be stressing all weekend. I usually get straight A's....but if I got through this one with a "C" I will really be amazed!! I have never failed a test.......I cried all the way home from school tonight........just venting......thanks for listening

Our A & P teacher had a great way to help us learn the Bones. She gave us photo copies of about 150 bones, we had to cut them out, and attach them together to make a 6 foot skeleton. All of the bones had to be labeled. After spending so many hours cutting those bones out and then naming them and putting them together, Most of us made "A's" on that test. The skull was one piece but we had to label each individual bone, and the hands and feet were single pieces but we had to lable each of the bones in them also. We all thought she was joking when she handed out those copies, but it worked we learned them, Plus now we have a realistic Halloween skeleton for decoration.

Select the Skelatol section. It's all pictures of a real skelaton and real bones. It helped me out tremendously when I had to do my lab test.

Salgal - I'm sure you did fine! Bones are the hardest exam (or so I hear) in the class! I thought I didn't do so well on the exam and did better than expected!
