It's my favorite time of year (not)! Open enrollment. UGH!
As usual, our benefits are shrinking and our costs are skyrocketing. Our employer is pushing a health plan called Definity Health, which basically provides the employee with a spending account to cover routine costs, and then an insurance plan with a high deductible to protect against catastrophic expenses. I understand that it will make the consumer more aware and careful of healthcare spending, which is good. But I'm leery of the spending limits. Anyone out there ever used this plan? Any good or bad comments?
Thanks for your input!

Sounds chancy to me. But then poor insurance is better than no insurance. My daughter who has NEVER been really sick had her gallbladder removed last fall SANS insurance. $17000. !! So they're getting it at $100 a mo.

Too bad the name isn't "Infinity," then you would feel more at ease.
However, the basic description you provide is of a system that is trying to gain some semblance of controls and limits around this whole business of health care. Unless employers adopt similar, or better, systems nationwide, employees will be left with NO healthcare benefits at all (and no jobs at all), as is presently occuring in many industries these days.
(That is assuming, which I think is presently safe to do, that no national system of healthcare coverage is anywhere in sight.)
