Defeat in ATL

Published

I am a new member to this page. What grabbed my attention was a posting by a fellow nurses r/t the shortage of nursing jobs and pay rate that a LPN receives in ATL. After being here for 3! years and having lost EVERYTHING!!! I too, am admitting defeat and returning to the greener pastures that CT offered me. To any and all potential future ATL-nurse-residents,PLEASE consider all that you have to gain and lose within this depressing economic society a.k.a ATL. To all that has been blessed with the economic comfort while working as a LPN in ATL; YOU GO!

What is Alt and CT?

Atlanta and Connecticut?

Atlanta and Connecticut?

Oh sweetie, you sure as heck don't want to come back to CT! Yes there are jobs a plentiful here but the cost of living really is out of control! I live here and its getting rough trying to keep afloat! Jobs are being sent out of CT and to the South. Businesses are laying people off left and right. Gas prices, house prices, taxes...through the roof.

Hubby and I are out of here as soon as the older one gets into college (graduates hs 2010)

Foreclosures on homes are on the rise. Houses are on the market forever and don't sell. No one can afford anything here anymore.

Its tough for CT natives to live day to day. Its even harder to MOVE to CT. How one can afford to by a home (or even rent a condo/apartment is crazy) is beyond me. Its great for nurses, jobs can be found everywhere, its the SO and people that move with the nurse that have a tough time finding work.

I wish you the best if you do come back "home" but CT might not be the green pasture you remember. We too have a depressed economic economy and the future is looking bleaker by the day :crying2:
