Decisions Decisions....

WELP, I changed my major at the end of this past semester to Kinesiology, what people who plan to go to pt school major in. I changed it because I was going to have to wait an entire semester before I could get into nursing school at the school I'm at now, because I have to take A&P 2 this summer and my Hesi A2 exam and pull my GPA up its not that gross, its a 2.9. Well, I'm sitting here and I'm wondering if I am making the right decision. I actually got into an adn and bsn program for the fall of this year but I declined since I had decided to get my degree first. I had spoken with two nurses who said it was a good idea to get a degree first but now I'm second guessing. What do you all think? any suggestions? I just want to make the absolute best decision, i"m in no rush because I know this takes time, at the same time I don't feel like I'm making any progress towards any of my life goals.

Also, if you take the HESI does it only go towards one school or can you send the scores to other schools?:lol2:

I'm wondering what the reasoning is behind getting a degree in another field before getting a degree in nursing is. If I knew the first time around that I wanted to be a nurse, and more importantly, had the dedication to do it, I would have just done that. If nursing is your ultimate goal, why take the time and money to get a non-nursing degree?

It would take the shortest amount of time to complete but your right. I'm going to take the test soon, I just really wanted to go to UMMC but I needed like three more classes that are only offered in the fall and the program starts at the end of May.

If you know you want to go into nursing, and you've already been accepted into two different nursing programs, why on earth would you want to get another degree first? I must be missing something here ... What was the reasoning of the two nurses who recommended this?

They said it would be better for after graduating nursing school, I can't remember the other reason one of them gave me it had something to do with Kinesiology dealing alot with medicine and the body and learning alot of things that would help with nursing school. But one of the schools I was accepted to got alot of bad reviews like 2 or 3 years ago but I plan on applying to the school I'm at and other bsn programs since i realize your right..no use in wasting time and money when I can actually do what I have an interest in!!
