decimal; whole number in nclex maths question????

Published

i love maths question . i prayed to god to give some maths questions in the test. i got 5 or 6 maths questions. all were easy and i could easily solved those. but i m not confident if the answer that i submitted were correct because all the answer that i got were in decimals and there were no 4 options so that i could select the best possible answer (as we get in regular question), and we just have to type the answer in the box.. so i dont know whether to type a whole number or the answer with decimals.... it was like blind game for me. i did not pass the test and going to retake it on july and dont want to stay confused. so please share that you know regarding maths question with decimals or whole number or.. plz

I would type in the answer you get, with the decimal, unless there are instructions to round up or down. For oral meds, they will ask you to round to the nearest tenth, because you can use a syringe that is marked in tenths.

On the NCLEX tutorial right before you take the test, it says to perform rounding AFTER your calculations. And do not type the units, just the number. Maybe you did one of those mistakes. Please check out the NCLEX tutorial so you can see what it says exactly about the math questions (along with other types of questions). It's helpful.
