December Test Takers Support Group

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

So, I finally feel I should not give up......I will be a retaker for 2nd time in December. I felt so low when I failed the test in July'07. I was thinking to take in october but just couldnt get motivated to study. In the meantime, I joined RN-BSN program. So, currently I am in school taking 15 credits of classes. I need to have my RN license before winter so I can do practical in communnity health, a required class for BSN.

After visiting this site almost everyday, reading success stories and encouragement given by one of my wonderful instructor from my ASN program, I am motivated to do it.

So, newcomers as well as retakers, Lets get together, support each other and lets pass the RN test. WE CAN DO IT.

For now, I have started practicing Q&A at least 2 hrs/day from Saunders CD. I will keep you updating and hope you all will share the tips as well.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF US. :welcome: TO THE SUPPORT GROUP .

Hi wizard

Thanks Zay:yldhdbng:

I started doing questions from middle of october using my teachers plan...using saunders...suzanne also recommend the same book. I studied regularly like 2 hrs in the morning and 2 hrs at night until december. from december i studied about 4-6 hrs a day. somedays i didn't study at all when i couldn't focus....majority of saturdays i took break. each system took me about 4-5 days. i did not do 100 questions per day like suzanne said. i focused on understanding rationales and reviewing what i got wrong. somedays i did 50-60 questions only otherdays i did like 100-200 questions depending on my need to review. for example, it took 6 days to finish neuro but took 1 day to finish renal system. but avg. i took 4-5 days per system.

Before two weeks of test (18 days to be exact)....I did about 30-50 questions a day from PDA reading all rationales and also reviewing like major drug classes, labs, diagnostic tests, infections everyday.

so its been a long time since i got my results, i took the exam at around dec 7, i got it on january 11..

i was short... so i guess i'll take the exam again.. its all good.. i was pretty nervous with everything.. but yea theres a reason for everything..

CONGRATS TO ALL WHO PASSED WITH THE DECEMBER SUPPORT GROUP!!!

I am sorry to hear about it. Just dont give up. Take your time next time. It took me 6 months to retake the exam. I kept postponing until I felt confident. You can do it. Take a break now, regroup, and restart. I know everything has a reason and god has plans for us that we dont know.

I will pray for allh the december retakers. You guys can do it. Goodluck with everything.

thanks!

the interview wasnt bad! it was non formal altho i was wearing my best suit LOL. Just tell me about yourself thing. then i asked questions about the unit, priveledges, classes, in-house training etc etc... the manager is so patient listening and answering questions:). i honestly told my strenghts and even my weaknesses and my willingness to learn and the excitement to work. she toured me around the ward. introduced me to the nurses. then back to her office and offered me the job! to my srprise, i told her my experience is limited and she said "it is easy to find a nurse who knows what to do and is well equip with knowledge, but it is difficult to find a nurse who has passion for nursing! you will do well. altho I am really scared, I know, with hard work and the eagerness to learn, I will survive!
