December Test Takers Support Group

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

So, I finally feel I should not give up......I will be a retaker for 2nd time in December. I felt so low when I failed the test in July'07. I was thinking to take in october but just couldnt get motivated to study. In the meantime, I joined RN-BSN program. So, currently I am in school taking 15 credits of classes. I need to have my RN license before winter so I can do practical in communnity health, a required class for BSN.

After visiting this site almost everyday, reading success stories and encouragement given by one of my wonderful instructor from my ASN program, I am motivated to do it.

So, newcomers as well as retakers, Lets get together, support each other and lets pass the RN test. WE CAN DO IT.

For now, I have started practicing Q&A at least 2 hrs/day from Saunders CD. I will keep you updating and hope you all will share the tips as well.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF US. :welcome: TO THE SUPPORT GROUP .

As for the nephrotic syndrome question..i think it was answered already that it needs a moderate amount of protein. evern though there is proteinuria... an increase amount of protein will further cause damage in the kidney since it will filter more protein. moderate amount is needed just to compensate the protein loss.

As for the defib question..i was also confused about that. but base on kaplan.. cpr will be given first while preparing the defib equipment just to promte circulation. in the abscnce of defib..a pericordial thump can also be given. but does anyone know how was the question formulated? or maybe what the real answer for this? thanks in advance!

Purna12, I feel the same way that is why I rescheduled my test. I was suppose to take it tomorrow, but I am not ready. I am still reading the PDA book. Hopefully, I will finish soon. Relax and you will be fine.

iel21, i saw that question in PDA book. i don't have that book with me right now but if you have that book you can look over in cardiac section. The answer was Defibrilation.

Massou, if you have PDA book do you mind sharing that question here. thanks

Sure. The question in the PDA book: A diagnosis of venrticullar fibrillation is identified for an unresponsive 50-year-old patient who has just arrived in the ED. Which action will you take first?

1. Defibrillate at 200joules

2.Start CPR

3.Administer Epinephrine 1mg

4.Intubate and manually ventilate

thank you for adding me. i am so nervous for tomorrow. good luck to narsing boy and to veryone who will take the test soon.

If a patient is in V-fib, you ALWAYS defibrillate first. This is ACLS protocol + my class lecture notes + med surg textbook by lemone. Even though you will defib first, you have to make sure airway is secure.

2b_bsrn0523.........................dec 11th

you will conquer the test. all my wishes and prayers.

I take mine the 26th and started major studying today.

i still have a week to go before my exam. what are the last week preparations you can suggest? do you think i should get over again with all my notes like read the book again or just answer questions? anxiety is just too much to handle. i'm just too afraid to face that computer again. that exam is so unpredictable. :(
