hello everyone.
While I was preparing for nclex, I would always check out post from allnurses.com for tips about the exam. It really helped me, so now I will share my nclex experience.
my ATT came on the 3rd week of November and the soonest available slot was December 11.
My prayers for the nclex was please Lord give me difficult questions which I can answer correctly, not the easy ones which i dont know anything at all..lol!
I conditioned my mind that I will have 75 questions. I will use my time to make sure I will be answering questions with the best knowledge that I have.
On the day of the exam....#1 i know the answer is PNSS #2 i know the answer is administer IV #3 SATA..... and guys i stopped at 75..with 22 SATAs... I have several easy questions and theres a medication which I have no idea.. My weakness really is pharma and i know the computer detected it.. but I prayed, i really prayed that please Lord let me choose the correct answer so i will be done with pharma..and felt i conquered pharma.. I didnt get any ECG..I studied ECG like crazy..coz its my weakness..i was prepared for ECG but none appeared..
I have lots of prioritization and questions with exhibits ( lab values, VS, Assessment ). It is very important to know the normal lab values..
Two hours after the exam, I did the PVT and I had the "good pop up".. My quick result was available like after 64 hours?
I did PASS..
My preparations: I reviewed with Rachell Allen, I used La Charity book and uWorld.
I did the Nclex Mastery before I purchased uWorld.. But uworld is more challenging..and my exam was like uworld type of questions..
God bless to those who will be taking the nclex.. you can do it!

Congrats Gracie! I've been stalking allnurses over the course of my nursing school journey. It seemed fair for me to contribute my recent experience to the community.
Test Prep---
I did about 1200 questions from the Q bank and took 6 of the QuestionTrainers. My highest score was a 71 and my lowest was a 44, but around 87% of my results were between 60 and 65. The goal point for Kaplan is 60-65 for the Qbank tests which means that I wasn't doing badly. But the lower scores/areas and the number of "I have no clue what the answer is" questions had me nervous. The Kaplan folks said I was ready to take the test and I was running out of time since my RN job starts in 3 weeks. I took the plunge and immediately scheduled the test within minutes of getting my ATT.
Timing---
My school verified my degree last Wednesday 12/6, I registered and paid Pearsonvue Friday 12/8, my ATT came Monday morning 12/11, and just like that, I was scheduled to take the test FIVE days later, Saturday 12/16. I took the Readiness test the day before with a score of 65 (the goal point is 60).
For those that wonder about appt availability---
I had to drive nearly 2 hours away to get to the testing center; the only one with a reasonable date. The dates available near me were literally Tuesday 12/12 (the day after I got my ATT), Wed and Thursday then allllll the way at the end of the month. So I was grateful to find a day at the end of the week. My mind was not prepared at all to test any sooner.
The testing experience was odd---
The rules were more strict than the rules in place when you visit someone in jail. Even before signing in to test, I had to be escorted to the restroom! Smart watches aren't allowed--understandable, so I wore a plan ole analog watch. Note--those are ALSO not allowed. Test-mates had to remove the hair ties from their wrists. The proctor did something along the lines of an airport strip search. TSA has worthy competition.
The Test---
It seemed less difficult than the Kaplan Qbank questions; it was more similar to the Readiness exam. There were a lot less words/details in each question, I may have had 10 or 15 SATAs, I had no hot spots (thank GOD!), no procedure step questions, no place the patients in priority order questions, and no picture or audio questions. I had quite a few "who do you see first" questions. It cut off at 75! I feel pretty good about it. I didn't get too much of that WTF feeling. Either I did really well or I failed horribly. But I'd fall out of my chair with shock if I didn't pass.
Now I must wait a grueling 48 hours to know my fate.
Thanks Amoni and thank you for sharing your experience. I felt the same way after the exam. I was positive about it.
Congratulations in advance! :)

Hey girl, many many congrats to you. I took it today and had 75 questions with about 30 SATA which I dread with everything in me lol but everytime I got those I know I was doing better. I checked with the pearson vue trick n so far I'm getting the good pop so we shall see. Waiting game begins now. Good luck to everyone that's planning on taking it in the near future!
Good luck Passion!

Hi Amoni,
I read that you registered and paid Pearsonvue before you got your ATT...I'm in the application process right now and I understood that the ATT had to come first?
I live about 2 hours from Sacramento, so I drove up and handed in my side of the application by hand. My school has to send my transcript which will happen sometime after 1/15 when the degrees are finalized. They told me 10-12 weeks, how long did it take for you to get your ATT?
Thank you!!
