Published

Hi,

my name is Nicole. I have been an LPN for 16 years. I need to know opinions on the program.

Is there an entrance and exit test?

what pre reqs are required?

how are the instructors?

I also live in Illinois and know I would have to work at the VA here or in Indiana or Wisconsin.

thank you,

Nicole!!

This is a predominantly challenge exam based program based upon independent study /review. One must be highly motivated independent learner to be successful. There aren't classes for the ASN program so therefore there are not instructors (there was a trial of online classes for two of the nursing requirements but there hasn't been information if this is going to continue )

You cannot start the nursing exams until micro and A&P are complete (whether the challenge exam or a course somewhere else). There are general ed requirements like any other degree program such as developmental psych, English, math , social sciences etc.

there is no entrance/exit exam. But the clinical skills required are assessed in a weekend clinical skill assessment called the Clinical Performance in Nursing Exam.

The requirements for entry & graduation are all listed on the Excelsior website.
