Debating on Day or Evening LPN-Atlantic Tech

Published

I am looking to start the LPN Program in January but I dont know if I should go days or evenings. I have a 2 year old who goes to daycare during the day and in the evening my husband picks her up. I think I am more of a morning person but after going to orientation I am a little intrigued about evenings. The schedule is days; 7:00-1:45 M-F or Evenings 2:00 to 10:15 M-TH you get Fridays off. I would like to work a small part time job maybe 15-20 hours per week but that is not my main concern school is. At orientation the Director mentioned that in her opinion evenings are better because the hospital is not so hectic and you learn more. The last term of the program the evenings will go to day time schedule just to feel how it is work a day time shift. Any feedback would be great from anyone that has been through this process or know someone that has. Thanks

Hello Amayabrianna,

I didn't pass the TEAS science section. I did extremely well in all of the other areas but bombed the science. So I was not suprised. I know you said that you had some stuff that could help me. I would be willing to meet you whenever it is convenient for you. My problem is definitely physics. I am excited you are registered and got in.

Thanks again,

Hi, I am new to this site just a quick question, I am schedule to take the TEAS this Tuesday, what happens if u fall a section, how soon can u retake the test. I'm also trying to get into the Jan class and from what I have heard there were only a hand full of seats avaiable(mornings).

thanks

Good liuck getting into mornings. Not to be mean but they were almost filled last month. So I would go nights if you can. You only go 4 days and you don't have clinicals on the weekends. You also get more one on one time during clinicals if you go at night. You do switch to days during term 5 but it's only the last 9 weeks b4 you graduate. As far as the TEAS goes you can retest as soon as the next spot is available but you can only take the test 3 times a year. So I would make sure I'm ready b4 you take it again. Study what you failed or at least what you made less than a 50 on. You only have to have a 40 to pass but it's better to be safe than sorry. HTH

thanks for the info, i've considered nights, but have kids in school so days are ideal. i know my chances are slim thats why i wanna make sure I pass. this test has me so stressed out.

Just try to relax I know its hard but the day of your exam just try to let go of the stress. If wont help you to do any better if you are stressed. I am retaking my science next tuesday and I am just ready to get it over with as well. I am hoping to get into morning but if I can't I will be go in the evening whatever is available at this point. Just remember a new session starts every nine weeks so if you have to wait another semester its not too bad. Good LUCK!!!
