Which semesters do you go to St.Louis to do your clinicals and how long do you have to stay? Thanks, Carolyn2180

Since the school has gone to trimesters I am not sure when the clinical rotations are scheduled. Your best bet would be to contact the school directly to be sure.
In the past the clinicals were all but the first semester and the validations for each of those semesters was 4 days in length.

YOU set up your clinicals in your own area. You only go to ST. Louis for validations. That can last anywhere from only 3 hours to a few days once a semester.
The clinical validationss (held in St. Louis) vary depending on whether you are an in-state or out-of-state student. If you are out of state plan on four days for each validation, typically a Thursday through Sunday morning.
As I mentioned before, the school is undergoing a great deal of change including ownership (now owned by DeVry) so to be sure you have the most current information, I would urge you to call the school. Those of us who have completed the program can offer you our experience but I would hate to see you enroll in a program that may not be what you had thought it was from our information.
Good luck and feel free to pm me if you like.
Thanks. Who do I talk to at the local hospital for doing clinicals? and
Do you go for these validations each semester or trimester or just certain ones? I live in Oklahoma and I'm trying to figure this out on how many trips I would have to make. I'm trying to complete all my basic courses so I don't have to pay so much. I'm taking some classes at Rio Salado and I love it there but they don't have a partnership with Oklahoma yet so I can't take the nursing program there. Plus I already have some credits from a local college but there waiting list is forever. Thanks, Carolyn2180
P.S. Do you stay in a local motel or ?

Welcome to Allnurses Carolyn.
I would contact the nursing education office at any hospital that you are interested in. Usually that is where things get started. You can call them or send them a letter of introduction regarding yourself and the Deaconess program. You will probably find that some hospitals are very receptive and some are not.
As far as validations go I do believe you would go to St Louis every semester however, like the very wise Opalm said, things are changing rapidly at DCN so who knows. Your best bet is to call and speak with someone in admissions.
It is good that you are trying to get those other courses out of the way. It will make nursing school that much easier or less stressful:)
Good luck

Mona is right, calling the nursing education office at each facility is a great place to start.
As for accomodations during validations, students make their own arrangements. Some students opted to stay close to the school while I choose to stay downtown. The hotels downtown are not much more per night than those close to the school but you will need to have transportation if you stay downtown. A cab from the hotels downtown is about $16 each way give or take a few dollars depending on the traffic. Renting a car is also an option. As semesters go on you may be fortunate to meet another classmate to room and travel with. I found one and it helped financially but more importantly helped having a study partner and life long friend (Mona).
DCN had it's ups and downs as all schools do. In hindsight, it was still the best choice for me.
Good luck to you
