I recently applied to the nursing program during the November to January period and haven't heard anything back yet. Has anyone gotten any news?[h=1][/h]

De Anza nursing program website is very out-of-date, and their waiting list is no more updating. I went to their Nursing Department asking for current information, they refuse to give out any information.
I called the person in charge of the applications in early March and she told me that we would get our letter at the end of March but now it's almost the deadline for Spring applications and she still hasn't finished with winter applications...... smh

The person in charge of admissions and applications had suddenly retire last fall. Deborah who is in now charge of the applications and admissions is slow. The lady who was previously in charge was a lot faster and had the waiting list updated each quarter. It is unfortunate that you applied when Deborah took charge but she is new so it will take time for her to get used to things. I applied last year around April and I should be admitted this Fall. But yeah I admit it is frustrating not knowing whats going on. Keep calling her and send emails.
I talked to Deborah and I felt that she is ignoring the waiting list and started recruiting military and other sources by giving them priorities. There are under-table deals that she wants to keep confidential. Now she is asking people to send Fall readiness form again with an out-of-date online form.
if you dont mine me asking, how long have you been on the waiting listing?

I had submitted my application back in September of 2017. I have emailed the new coordinator (Deborah) at least 5 times. She responded once (in Feb) saying that she will have the list updated by March. Another friend emailed in March and got a promise of "by the beginning of April".
I had called her asking when the list would be posted, but she kept saying she "needs clearance" to put it up. . . Not sure how to find out where we stand on the list.
If anyone has time to email her - maybe you'll get some sort of update. I'm pretty sure she's completely ignoring my emails now.

What I notice is that if you were to go on the new de Anza nursing website, Deborah contact name is not there. It only displays Catherine Hyrick which is the the head of the nursing program. You should try to give her a call and see what's happening. IL probably do that tomarrow. You should too.
I just emailed her right now, she will probably respond on Monday. I will update you guys on what she says. This has been a very frustrating experience hopefully it will get better.
I've waited for hree quarters so far. I should be starting in Fall, but Deborah said she is not sure if there are more people from military or other prioritized sources will jump in front of me.
I don't think that there are that many people from the military or other prioritized sources that apply to the nursing program every quarter. Honestly, I think we might all start later than expected if things continue as they are.
Guys Catherine just responded to me and told me to talk to Deborah again........ I'm gonna lose all my brain cells at this rate
