Daytona State College Acceptance

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knew what the lowest gpa accepted into the ADN program was? I was told by an advisor that last year the lowest gpa accepted was a 3.04. But I'm curious to see if it has gotten any lower. I currently have a 3.08 gpa. I passed the TEAS Test and got a pretty good score but someone told me they just look at pass or fail for the TEAS Test. I'm freaking out because when I was in high school I did dual enrollment to get out of high school earlier because I hated it lol. But at the time I didn't know what I wanted to do and if I got a B or a C I was cool with it. Now I'm kicking myself in the butt. I've never been great at math and while working 40hrs a week I thought it would be a good idea to take Statistics and try to get an A. Now I have a C and there are only 2 tests left and even if I ace them, it will give me a 79.4. I'm scared of my gpa getting any lower. I keep seeing other people talking about or posting online that they are applying in May and they all seem to have a much higher gpa than I do. I'm really worried about not getting in. I am turning my application in tomorrow and I was wondering if anyone knows if they check the gpa after everyone has applied or if it's the gpa at the time you apply? If anyone knows anything I'd love to hear it whether it's good or bad. I feel so stupid for not caring about a B or a C when I was younger.

Yes! I thought I got a B because of what it said on my stat lab through pearson but I really got a B+ and my gpa is now a 3.1 !! So Melinda said if that happens she will print out my new gpa and that they will go off of that one even though I already applied! Yay! So happy!

So this sucks but I didn't get in! I'm super upset about it because I thought I had a good chance. I was only .06 away from getting in as I'm sure you guys know. I just really thought I would make it. The counselors told me that May is the hardest application period anyways and that they really think I'll definitely get in for January. But they also said that 6-12 people decline every application period. I figured I had to be some where in the top 10 and I am. I am #9 on the list for people who choose not to accept. Everyone has to respond by July 10th. I am hoping to hear that I will still get in anyways. Fingers crossed! I'm really embarassed that I didn't get in this time around. I don't want to tell my friends and family that I didn't. @laedwards1014 maybe we both still have a shot !

i didn't get in either! Don't be too hard on yourself. We will both get in! Keep trying and don't give up. I've also been told that those with lower gpa's should apply in the fall. Keeping fingers crossed for acceptance for the both of us in the spring! Don't ever be embarrassed for trying, and not succeeding your first attempt. It will just make everything that much sweeter when you do get in, and you will ! Every great success story has periods of defeat and rejection.

Aww thanks girl! That's so true. You are right and as I'm sure you know it is just challenging when you want something so badly lol. I just feel really prepared for it now. I'm still going to be optimistic on both of us getting in for August! You should see what # you are on the waiting list! I bet you're not far behind me. I was told 6-12 don't accept so hopefully it will be 12 or more and we both get in ! I will let you know! We will just have to try again in September if not. What campus are you wanting ? It would be cool if we had class together even if it is in January!

@Marilena and @xobecca_booxo Thank you! I'm not going to let it discourage me! I want this so bad...I would never let myself get this far and stop. Based on the last 2 application periods I really thought I would make it. But the good news is I wasn't that far off and neither was @laedwards1014. My counselor still thinks I have a good shot because I am 9th in line for getting in in August and 6-12 decline so I am not giving up hope ! But either way worst casinario I will save some more money and start in January. Thank you both! Congrats on your acceptance! You deserve it !

@Marilena thank you! I do too! So I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I hear something around July 15 or so. I don't even care that I might have to drive to whatever campus the person was going to! Lol. The farthest would be Palm Coast but I don't care I'm dedicated haha. Thanks for being supportive! Good luck to you when school starts I am sure you will do great! You are going to have so much fun! I'll let you guys know if anything changes but for now I'm just going to focus on saving money for school! :) let me know how it is when you start!
