I am scheduled to take the NCLEX RN on January 20, 2011. im scared. i have been studying and studying, but it just doesnt seem to be enough. any advice or tips please!
Took the Nclex today, computer turned off at 76 questions, got 3 SATA, 2 drag and drop, a few med questions, and a whole lot of Priority Questions and Infection control....whew! thank goodness for SPIDERMAN is all I have to say!!!
I was pretty confident going into the exam, but when I got to question 2 (it was a med question) I had to make an educated guess on meds that I have never heard of. Not one sounded familiar. I got frazzled, but jus reminded myself that I was going to pass! When it shut off at 76 questions I didnt know what to feel, I actually felt pretty good, until the ride home. I started getting worried.
I did the PVT as soon as I got home. I got the good Pop up. I felt a little relieved, but still have a lil doubt, I mean what if its wrong. This was my second attempt to pass NCLEX. I'm still praying, and hope on saturday wen I get my quick results, I will have passed!
Just want to say Thank you for everyone who posted about their experiences, and kept me in their prayers. It really gave me a confidence going into the exam that I didnt have the first time around.
Will keep you posted when I get my official results. Thanx!
hi jmillan , what did you differently this time around to study? Please help
Hi helppassnclex!
This time around I busted my bootie studying!! I took the Kaplan review course back in october, and studied here and there. But 3 weeks before my exam is when I started studying hard core. I tried to study at least 6hrs a day. I would do 2 hrs at a time then take either 30 or 45 min break and then continue studying. If I couldnt do 6hrs, I would always study no less than 2 hrs a day. I reviewed a lot in my week areas, and with all the practice exams I took I made sure to read every single rationale for every question whether I got the answer right or wrong. I also joined this site and read a lot of threads, and came across the Infection Control pnuemonic (My Chicken Hez TB, Spiderman, Mrs Wee) which helped me out a lot during nclex.
The first time I took nclex, before I even got to the testing center I already had it in my head that I was going to fail. This time around I went in with soo much confidence. I kept telling myself everyday that I would pass. I made notes on my desk and in my phone that read "I will pass NCLEX because I'm smart and I know my shyt!" so everyday I would see those signs and read them over and over. Once u keep telling yourself something over and over again you start to believe it, and it gave me the confidence I needed to tackle nclex.
When are you taking yours? Hope I helped. =)

Good Luck to all that will be taking it tomorrow. You can do it!!!! Remain confident and NEVER second guess yourself. You will be in my prayers as well as those of us that still need to take it. :)
