hey guys..i finished the suander's book..i have not finished the entire cd since i find it too easy..i've done roughly 1000 questions from the cd. i've taken the nclex before and i find that the saunder's questions aren't really similar to what i've seen on the nclex. do you think i should sign up for ncsbn and answer their questions for 2 weeks before my test???
also, just to add i wanted to sign up with kaplan's questions but considering the cost...i really don't have that much money! so i was thinking of nscbn as an alternative.

I am doing both the NSCBN and the Kaplan yea the Saunders ques are easier. The NSCBN and the Kaplan ques are similar, however Kaplans provides more ques they are a bit longer and harder. Kaplan has more senario type ques. The NSCBN has content area and about 20 ques after each content area. There is a pre test and the 20 exams that contains 40 ques each. I would recommend it. I would pick up kaplan strategy book if you haven't already.
thanks betty, yeah i thot so too..i'm gonna borrow some money from someone so i can enroll for the ncsbn reveiw for 3 weeks which i think is 49 bucks..yeah i'm that broke..lol. when's your test??? please do pray for me and wish me goodluck. i'm alittle scared and anxious to take the test..although i have been preparing for quite some time now. i really don't feel confident with my pharmacology..

kaplan and ncsbn online review are both good and are quite similar to the actual nclex-rn exam. if you have the 49 bucks then go on start with it you can finish it in a shorter span than the usual 3 weeks if your going to study it the more than 8 hours a day depends on your comfortable span of hours in studying.
thats what i did a month before my actaul exam and find it very helpful indeed. i took my nclex-rn exam and shut down at 77Q's. and even though im educated outside the usa i managed to passed it in just 1 take. :wink2:
best of luck on your exam. :loveya:
wow thanks tobby..i really appreciate the advice. what reference did you use for content reveiw? saunder's as well?

for the reference i used the kaplan course book 10th edition (preparation for the nclex-rn exam) and kaplan the basics which includes the anatomy and physiology.
since i reviewed at kaplan all materials i had came from kaplan as well so as not confuse with the differences of some other review books materials. although in the practice question i utilize some of saunders and much on kaplan and ncsbn.:wink2:
i am testing in mid oct. i also feel week in phar but try to study the side effects and teachings for the med in group, like your beta blockers, antidepressant etc. the ncsbn also has content also, but i find it hard to read it from the computer as i like to mark and highlight what i am reading so i mainy use it for the ques. i am using kaplan for the content.
Sweet..Yeah I have kaplan's strategies but it's for 2007-2008, pretty much last years edition. LOL I just woke up sorry for the late reply! I bought some visual aids and I'm going to write down all the meds which I think are going to be most important..I have already tons to think of!!! It's killing me to do this so late cause I really don't like to rush things...I'm praying alot to GOD that I WILL PASS!!!
BTW Goodluck Betty on your test!! Mid October..I feel like rescheduling again..LOL. :chuckle

meds is the most difficult part in the nclex-rn exam specially if its just a new approve drugs. one of my strategies in studying it is to sort all medications according to its general classification, its action, side effects, nursing interventions and its uniqueness againts the rest of the group. i also search new approve drugs on internet to update me and also browse the www.cdc.gov for the latest trends on immunization. during my exam many came out about immunizations so include it on your study list. :loveya:
just do it, you will never feel a hundred percent ready
