Day shift or night shift

Do you prefer working the day shift or night shift?? Pros & cons of each shift?? I'm currently on the day shift and thinking about switching to nights.

I hated nights. More sick calls, and it's when most patients crap out.

The extra pay was not that much more, not worth it to me.

All my real "nurse" learning, however, took place on nights.

I think it also depends on the types of tasks you enjoy doing. I really am not a big fan of ADL's so I LOVE nights. I also love that when a night goes well I have time to dig into the charts and learn about stuff, there would be almost zero time for that on days. Plus I get to be my slightly weird and silly self with a smaller chance of offending someone :)

I would prefer nights simply because i love the illusion of "sleeping in." Plus i figure that while im young, child-free, and not married then there's good $$$ to be made. I graduate in december and ill much prefer working the night shift.

I wish I could work nights but my epilepsy & my body just won't let me, at least not any more. So I work days now. I use to have fun on nights when I was younger, single & kidless.
