Day one after termination-baby steps!

Published

I woke up in a cold sweat after several dreams about calling my mother. I did so at midnight and we had a long discussion about my future. My mother is the one that helped me through college. I discovered slowly through conversation that bedside nursing is not my desire field and that I am going to do whatever it takes to be somewhere I can feel comfortable.

I finally got some sleep, a few hours in fact. My fiancé had to work, so I made him breakfast and started to clean the house. He left for his nice job at the post office (he's a programmer and makes biggo bucks) and so I did my chores at home. I cleaned my kitchen, and the dishes, washed laundry, vacuumed and made the beds. I cleaned the bathrooms and finally sat down to eat. As I ate I applied to jobs, a lot of RN jobs, being completely honest regarding my termination. I have told many that I can discuss further details regarding what occurred in the interview…and left it at that. Crossing my fingers. I wouldn't be very happy going back to a night shift position but I have to do what I have to do.

I took my shower and got dressed. What a nice fall day it was! The sun was just comfortable enough and the wind was cool. The air smelled fresh. I got a call from one of the many places I applied to just saying I wasn't qualified due to them needing someone who has two years of experience. Ah well, thems the breaks!

I then took my break, wrapped up whatever I needed to at home, and prepared to venture off for the day. All this time I was supporting my fiancé over texts who was having a particularly rough day at his job.

My first stop was the orthodontist. I have braces…again…and I had to get my teeth looked at.

I then went to the dentist, and had a pretty decent talk with my brother. I ate dinner with my family. I came back to my house and my fiancé. I cooked dinner for him and after a shower, relaxed and ended up sleeping soundly in bed!

Thanks for everyone's support!
