1) Courage, first day on the job I had a pt pass away I wanted to quit, the nurse I trained with encourage me to continue
2)Patience, were always in a hurry but that extra minute to just listen and show you care for the patient makes a huge difference
3) always make it a priority to check on pts after report you never know what mess you might find
4) Humor, nursing is a stressful job having humor helps alleviate a lot of the stress, even if its just for a couple of seconds
5) Teamwork, without teamwork and helping each other out we would drown at times

2.Show compassion to patients and family they maybe dealing with a lot.
3.Be ready to learn new things as the face of nursing changes.
4.Show respect to all the members of the health team irrespective of their statuses. Team work is very important.
5.We should try to practice what we preach and take of our health as well.Sometimes in the course of our work we get so busy that we forget to eat which can lead to ulcer development and eventually affect our health.
Expect the worse, and go from there. You won't be disappointed.

1. Treat everyone like they are somebody's loved one, they are, or even if they're not they should feel the dignity of that type of care & respect. Don't forget Spiritually either, a small prayer can go a long way for the patient & their family, or even you and your staff.
2. Never take a patient's rudeness personally, it may be how they are dealing with their diagnosis/ illness/ isolation, instead be their advocate.
3. Take care of yourself, it's very taxing physically, mentally & emotionally being a caregiver and having family members needing you so try to eat right, rest, and relax to recharge you!
4. Accept help at work if and when it's available. No one needs to be super nurse, teamwork helps keep everyone safe.
5. Never stop learning. Go to conferences, read on line journals and research, persue that higher level of education. Never limit yourself. You are amazing, you are a nurse!
