What is your typical shift like? How stressful would you say your job is? How physically demanding is it?I'm about to make the jump into LTC nursing and I've worked as a CNA in LTC for years, but I don't have much of an idea of how a shift runs as a nurse.
Thanks in advance for any replies! ❤️

It depends on how the facility staffs. Some facilities have a charge nurse that takes care of contacting the MD, taking care of orders, etc. Other facilities have their floor nurse do everything - meds, treatments, review labs, all charting, admits/discharges, contact MD, coordinate care, attend IDT meetings, etc.
My last floor job was as charge RN on subacute. I did assessments, IV meds, charting, trach care/suctioning, coordination of care, rounding with MDs, assignments/delegation/supervision of CNAs and LVNs, patient/family teaching, etc. LVNs did the med pass/treatments.
When I worked in a typical SNF AM shift, I did 3 med passes (8am, 12pm, 2pm), including blood sugars. Between med passes I did treatments, assessments and charting. Most admits happened on PM shift, but I occasionally processed them on AM shift.
Other times I worked as a treatment nurse only, doing wound care all day. I loved it. Actually I liked all of my SNF jobs.
