Hello everyone,
I am just wondering if anyone has an idea what's the difference for a Chronic Registered Nurse vs an Acute Registered Nurse @ Davita? I applied to a specific clinic (location), but the job title says Chronic.
Appreciate the feedback

From my understanding, chronic refers to working in the outpatient clinic and acute refers to performing dialysis treatments in the hospital setting. People that work acute usually have to work on call at times. Someone else can add or correct me if I’m wrong.

yeah if you work acutes you have to take call. rotating Sunday call plus call overnight during the week.

The call and Sunday requirements are what kept me out of acutes. I took plenty of call when I worked in the hospital. I prefer not to have to do that again. This is one distinct advantage of chronic/outpatient clinic nursing.
