Davenport 2016 LPN Program

Published

Hello everyone! I am new member to this website, but I've been visiting it for almost a year. I finally decided to join! I am a 2016 LPN hopeful at Davenport University in Michigan ( Warren campus) I have only seen two post pertaining to the campus thus far. I was wondering if anyone is applying for the upcoming fall semester? Also, I was wondering if anyone could tell me exactly how the program work. I have taken many of the prereq classes .The only non nursing class I will have to take is intermediate algebra.

I am curious how the program works since I have taken the prereqs already. Will it cut down my time in the program? Will I be allowed to keep moving forward or do I simply have to wait. Forgive me for the novice questions but I have no clue. All comments would be appreciated. Thanks in advance la9MFCKoIaKIlaHjVuttgx238A8l+oISTPknrAAAAAElFTkSuQmCC

Try to look into multiple schools...Davenport is quite expensive, especially considering the LPN certificate as the investment. Look into whether your courses will transfer to another college; for example contact a community college and see if the math or another class will transfer. That will be telling. I wish you the best.

I graduated from Davenport's LPN program (Warren campus) August 2015. I am currently an Assistant Health and Wellness Director at an assisted living and just started at St. John on a med-surg unit.

I went in with credit (an associate degree from Henry Ford) and only had to take BIOL 115 and 116 (I believe those were the classes) while in the program. Our classes were held 2 days per week and you had clinical (so happy I had 12 hour clinicals instead of going two days per week), so I was able to work, study, and be a mommy/wife.

I loved Davenport, but at $600+ a credit hour, I did not go back for my BSN there. Even with tuition reimbursement/discounts depending on your employer/scholarships, its alot of debt to rack up. Depending on your networking and what area you want to go in, you can make the same amount as an RN. LPN and RNs actually get the same amount at the assisted living I work at (starts at $23/hr.), but is you want to go to the hospital, I'd advise going back for your RN (I make about $11 less than new grad RNs on the med-surg unit). It's just all about what you want long term.

You could get a BSN for what they charge you for the LPN at Davenport. There are several ADN programs that are highly regarded in the area and much less expensive, too.

Hello everyone,

I am new to this forum and would like to know the hours of the lpn program at davenport warren campus because i have 2 little ones and need to plan accordingly, also does anyone know the dorsey lpn hours and which school is a better choice, i have a 3.5 gpa and like 15 credits from mcc that can transfer to davenport which might make the tuition more affordable compared to dorsey, but dorsey, roseville is closer. Thx
