Hello all! I'm a new member to allnurses, yet I have been following previous threads. I took the HESI on th 6th. I made 82.4% overall. I'm super excited. I will be done with all of my core classes at the end of this semester and my gpa was 3.5 at the end of spring. I hope I don't have to wait until the end of July or the deadline to find out my status...I have applied to the HCP bridge.

Well congrats to your hesi score and welcome to this site. This site has been a great outlet for me to vent, network and learn. Sometimes your family and friends might get tired of hearing about nursing but not on this site. It's like our own world filled away from the rest of reality. On another note, I have just got accepted into darton. My 82.80% is what i got in the program with along with a GPA at 3.4ish. So I feel positive about you getting in. Is this your first application to nursing? Do you live near Albany or commute?

Thanks Limitless. No this is not my first time applying to a nursing program. I also applied to ABACs program but was denied. This was fine with me because at that point I still had a couple of classes left to take. ABAC has also changed their requirements for the program they added ENGL 1102 Psych 1101, and one more...can't remember which class it is now. Also they no longer require BIOL 2107 which was a class I had completed. So going back to ABAC would be a complete waste of my time and money.

This is my first time applying to Dartons program though. I really want to know whats what like right now...LOL. I guess I will just be patient though. No I will have to commute. I live in Fitzgerald which is about 1.5hrs away from Darton.

Oh yeah, I called the school the other day and the lady said the cut off for the A&P part was 68. I made 76 on that part. Class average was 83.something??. I can't help but wonder what was the class average for the anatomy though.

I applied to the sandersville bridge program. Took the hesi the first week of july, made a 94% overall, 92% in a&p. My Darton gpa is 3.88, but I had quite a few transfer credits from Macon state. I think my gpa for pre reqs is something like 3.25. I still have micro to take, so I'm registered for that for fall. They said letters would be out by August 14 so still waiting on that. :-/

I don't want to spoil your surprise but you will be accepted with that score!!! My anatomy was a 92 also with only an 82.80 overall so I know you can't be beat. The wait is very hard to deal with though. Seems from your other post you have experience with the health field so I know you are suited for this. Good luck!!!!!!

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm a little nervous about waiting for the letter. I turned in my notice at work today and almost everyone there thinks I'm crazy. "why would you want to be a nurse when you're already a paramedic?!?" Hmm...maybe because I'm sick of 24 hour shifts and being completely exhausted all the time? Or maybe because I'm tired of working for peanuts? Or maybe I'm just ready for a change? Geez. I can't wait for school to start.

Christina,

I know just what you are going through. I work PRN at a hospital as a LPN. I think I work too hard to be making $9.00 less than a RN, doing the same thing. I'm going to continue working until I find out what's going to happen with Darton. I'm very positive I will have a seat this fall though. Hope we both enter the program this fall. Good luck!!:nurse:
