I just bought my first pair of Danskos. I am usually a sneaker woman but have had really bad foot and back pain and my co workers recommended Danskos. I dished out the $130.00 but now my pinky toes are killing me!!! The shoe just runs against them to a point I am literally limping! Is there something I will eventually get used to? Anyone experience this and eventually have the shoe mold to your foot? I would hate to never wear them again, and I am not sure if I just need to "break them in" or give up. :/

My Danskos used to hurt my pinky toe and across the top of my foot. I started wearing slightly thinner socks in and it fixed the problem.
I don't know if breaking them in will fix it, I changed my socks about 5 shifts in so I really feel like it was the sock for me causing the problem with this particular shoe (never had problems with other shoes).

The clerk at the shoestore where I was looking at danskos recently said they don't mold to your foot. That's more like a birkenstock.

I bought a pair and sent them back. I decided in the end that they just weren't for me and that I would never get used to the incline. I felt really unstable. I have really flat feet, and I read somewhere (probably on AN) that they are not good for people with flat feet.

Each pair of danskos will feel a little different. I initially went to The Walking Company to try a few different sizes/styles. What I learned is that Danskos are manufactured at 3 different factories. Some pairs will feel awesome, others not so good. Since spending $130 is a pretty big commitment, I recommend trying to find the "perfect" pair for your foot. When you find it you will discover how comfy they can actually be. :)

It took about 3 weeks to break mine in. Now my back and legs ache horribly if I wear anything else for my 12's. I wear my Nikes one shift a week to change it up, because the Danskos do make my calves spasm after I take them off. But the night I wear the Nikes, the bottoms of my feet ACHE. I have fairly flat feet, so I disagree that Danskos don't work for the flat-footed.

I bought Dansko's, I hated them. I started to have Plantar fasciitis like pain and my pinky toes were blistered all to hell. I switched back to tennis shoes and the problems disappeared.
I think 12+ hours shifts hurt your feet regardless.
I'd say save the money and buy a good pair of running shoes.
I know where my Dansko's to the barn to muck out stalls.
Oh my...now wear...darn iPhone spell check
I officially have up the Danskos. My poor pinky toes just couldn't so it anymore. I got some Nike glycerine a with gel inserts. They seem to be working well. I got the men's size because my feet are too damn wide! I think that's my problem with Danskos, my feet are just too wide. :/
