Hi everyone..

I am get closer and closer to graduating from LVN school and I am planning to move to Dallas, I lived there once, but left to go to school and now I can't wait to go back. I am just curious if there are any LVN's (or anyone) out there who have any recommendations for hospitals to work for? I have been looking at job openings and stuff like that to get ideas, but there aren't many ads for LVN's. I'm really interested in working in a hospital, but are they eager to hire new grads? I am growing increasingly nervous about be sent of on my own once I'm out of school so I hope to find some place to feel comfortable in.

Thanks for any input...

The Fort Worth side of the metroplex seems to be much more "LVN-friendly" with regards to hospital employment than the Dallas side. The hospitals that hire LVNs in Fort Worth are Plaza Medical Center, Harris Methodist, Regency Hospital, Healthsouth Rehab Hospital, Huguley Hospital, Kindred Hospital, and the list goes on.

I will warn that hospitals pay LVNs very poorly in most parts of Dallas-Fort Worth. The starting pay ranges from $12 to $15 hourly. I currently earn $19.06 at a nursing home in Fort Worth with 1 year of experience. The nursing homes in this area pay anywhere from $18 to $22 hourly, because they are desperate for staff. Good luck!

I forgot to mention that John Peter Smith Hospital (JPS) hires LVNs.
