Cypress College Spring 2018 Applicants

Published

Hi everyone! Has anyone else here applied for Cypress Spring 2018?

I put in my application on the Sept. 1 and submitted my documents as well. I should have 30 points so I'm hoping I have a good chance at getting in. The lady at the window said that they will let us know "after we've gone through all the applications"

Does anyone know what TEAS test were are supposed to study for? I think I remember the counselor saying it was TEAS version 6, but I'm not certain. I feel like I should already start studying for it since I really need to brush up on math.

@claymarble Yeah I'm super stressed! But we only need a 62% overall. I'm using the ATI study manual and am planning on buying the practice test.

Hi everyone! So I also applied with a 30/30 and I'm chosen as an alternate.

So no one has taken the tease? I took mine a few months ago! I thought we had to take it to apply?

Some schools require it but cypress doesn't to apply but is required after being selected.

Congrats to everyone! I got in with 30 points too. We've all made it this far, the TEAS wouldn't be that bad. I suggest not to focus too much on the Science section if you don't have much time to study, but if you do, focus mainly on A&P!!! 3 weeks of constant studying will be enough, trust me. If you only have a week to study, focus on the other 3 sections more (Reading, Math and English) but include Science in answering practice questions. Don't just depend on the ATI Manual. I suggest buying another book to practice. Remember to breath and relax, guys! Good luck!! :)

Does anyone know when will the Spring 18 semester start?

Jan 29 and congrats btw!

Holly, I'm surprised you weren't accepted with 30/30. What was your GPA if you don't mind me asking. I think they go by points first and then if there is a tie, GPA, and finally time that you submitted your application.

So I checked my GPA and for Cypress I have a 3.40 GPA, Fullerton I have a 3.85 GPA & at another college where I only took 6 units is a 4.00. So I'm somewhere between all that. D: I wonder if they only looked at the Cypress GPA or if there was a lot of near perfect GPA's that applied. What GPA did you apply with?

My GPA at cypress is 3.87. I haven't taken classes at any other colleges. I think that means they must have had to taken GPA into account since there were so many 30/30 applications.

Also I think I read somewhere that they admit a lot of alternates in fall.

I'm pretty sure they only count your GPA based on 3 presiquisite classes and English 100. The counselor told me once

I thought that too, but if that was the case I'd have a 4.00 GPA. If I don't get in it's ok, maybe it's a blessing in disguise. :) Gives me another semester to save up and prepare myself. The only bad thing is that I already quit my job haha

Yeah I'm sure they did use GPA but I wonder what GPA they came up with for me. I'm also pretty sure all the alternates that don't get in this time will get in for Fall :) Fall is the 2nd group from the same list so it's easier to get in Fall than Spring.
