Hello,I have to write a personal statement for my application to get into my school's Nursing program. One of the questions asks for what I can do to contribute to the needs of nursing right now. I was wondering if any of you nurses could help me out and explain some of the needs in the nursing department! Any help is much appreciated, thank you ?Nursing Student

I think you’re missing the point of the requirement...

You have my sympathy. That is an annoying and vague question, especially for someone who has no nursing experience and isn't even in nursing school yet.
Do the other questions asked provide any context? If not, I would answer with what I hoped to contribute as a nurse and assume it was "needed" by nursing.
Really stupid question, though.

Do you work in health care now? You could write about what deficiencies you see in your workplace. Basically, BS something like “as a CNA, I see the fear and confusion patients when they are ill. I want to be a nurse that sees and treats patients as humans, not a list of tasks and check marks in a chart” Or something equally worthy of Flo.
