Well I may be wrong, but I go to CSUEB and they calculate based on prerequisite GPA. They also look at overall GPA to make sure you have a minimum which I think was 3.0, but I was told that you want at least a 3.5 to be competitve.
i got into the rn program at my campus based on cumulative gpa, but since i am now doing pre-reqs,i would assume those would weigh more strongly than the cumulative would as far as the possibility of maybe getting bumped out by higher gpa..
Your question is school-dependent, and you will need to find the answer my contacting the schools/programs that you will be applying to. Most admissions counselors are quite willing to discuss your GPA and your standing within the potential applicant pool.
