AngleEyes25,

I havent been on this site for a while, as for people viewing and not putting any input I cant explain. Anyway, I went to take the placement test at CTS and scored in the 99 percentile, the next step would have an interview with Mrs. LaGreca, who I assume is the head of the practical nursing program. I didnt have my interview (yet) because I am still debating if I want to spend all that money and only have my lpn when I can wait a little longer to get into one of these rn programs for less and be done with it completely. The cost is over $20,000 and the program is for 14 months. I am still soaking on the $20,000. I have a cousin who enrolled in the program and she justed started on August 7. She has nothing but good things to say about the program, she said all of the students work together to help each other out. She also said the instructors are very nice and try to help you with studying because they want you to pass and complete the program, she also said CTS has a nclex pass rate in the past of 100%. It sounds like a very good program, so if you can get past the money the program cost then I say go for it!!!!

thanks for response! ya, the 22k was a lot to soak in at first, but in the long run, it will definitely pay for itself and for me, to be in school the same times that my son willb e in school, definitely benefits me. i will be home when he gets home, which means a lot to me. i was wondering about their passrate for nclex. i had the interview with ms. lagreca, she was nice. she doesn't accept everyone just because you pass, the language comprehension she looks at as well. did you score 99 out of the 115, or got a 99%. i got 101 out of the 115 and scored 27/30 on the language comprehension. i start on november 27 and i'm sooo looking forward to it. the time can't go by fast enough!

Where is this CTS?

it is located in Fredericksburg, VA. Exit 133 off of I-95

AngleEyes25,

I only got 4 answers wrong total. I believe Mrs. Carr who was the admission rep said I got only 1 wrong on the reading/language comprehension and 3 wrong on the math. I always freak out with math so I was not surprised. They told me the same thing that Mrs. Lagreca is real big on looking at the language comprehension as a determing factor if you get into the program. I actually took the test in May but didnt show up for my interview. They have been calling me to see if I want to reschedule the interview and start on November 27th as well. I am concerned about the money, but I am trying to see how I could swing daycare for my son. I have an 8 month old. so I am debating if I should just continue taking prereqs for the rn program. I called the local social service to see if they have a program to help someone in my situation with daycare while in school but I was told that the waiting list was for a year. So I dont know what to do, but I would definitely like to keep in contact with you because we might be in the same class.

Hello,

Please help me with this CTS school info.

I am in the process applying into Career Training Solutions school. They have RN program now at CTS and the next class begins September 29, 2008.

Did you graduate from this school and how did you like it?

I would appreciate with the info about the CTS from anyone out there that know about it.

sorry, never heard of this proram. I'm attending the RN program through the Virginia Community College System. I'm at the Springfield (Northern Virginia area) location. Have you checked out the VCCS in your area? it might be cheaper. Good luck!

I am starting CTS at the end of the month. I have done a lot of searching and praying over this decision. I checked again today and from the July 2008 statistics CTS is still provisionally approved by the VA State Board of Nursing. They can not get full accredidation until their first class graduates.

It is a lot of money but I have justified the money with the fact that we will graduate months before others schools making money. We can pay ourselves back the money that we have spent on the education and gas for the other local choices.

Good luck with your decision. I am going to put my head in the books, ask a lot of questions and be happy with my choice. Good luck with yours!

So,How much does the Rn program cost and is there any financial aid?

I started at CTS for the LPN program and quickly transferred out. I hated it. The days are extremely long. They have a way of weaving students out during the first semester. I heard that Germanna has a better program. After attending CTS I've decided to do CNA program at Germanna and then do the RN program at Germanna. Before I started classes at CTS I had chose to go to Germanna but changed my mind. I should have gone with my first instinct. CTS is extremely expensive. Once you get in the program you still have lots of other costs.

This is my experience with CTS. If I could do it all over again I wouldn't have gone to CTS in the first place.
